Hey everyone! It has been a while since I've posted on here, but I just wanted to share a little something with you...
In school, one of my electives is TV ARTS Production where we learn how to use a camera, shoot videos, and edit them. At first, I was not a big fan of this class when I realized that it was not going to be what I thought, which is where you actually sit down in front of the camera, not work behind it. However, I have finally accepted what is going on and actually like the class!
After watching countless videos and learning about the history of TV, we were given our first assignment; recreate a scene from a movie shot by shot. To take on this great task, my group agreed on doing the walk-off scene from the movie Zoolander, featuring Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell. (You can watch the scene below)
So if you just watched the video above, you realize how complicated the scene is to pull off, especially for a bunch of amateurs! What is really difficult about trying to do this scene, is the fact that you need tons a people and time to pull this off. So after wasting a week of preparing a shot list, script, and figuring out a setting, we decided to change our scene. I looked through tons of other videos and we decided upon a much shorter scene composed of Zoolander and his agent. Unfortunately, I cannot show you this video due to the fact that no one has the specific part on youtube.
But, we filmed last week and uploaded our video today! Next week we will begin compiling our scene and I am immensely excited.
Anyway, I hope these camera skills come in handy someday. It's a lot of fun to shoot, but it's a lot of hard work.
Have a great night and a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!
:) :P :D
